Sinking in.
It's been a long twenty-four hours since I had to say good-bye to my hubby. Day two is hard.
I was getting used to Chris being gone for short trips: a weekend, a week, a few weeks, and even a month. But this past twenty-four hours has been different. The realization is sinking in that this is not just his run-of-the-mill time away. Like it or not Chris being gone has to become my new normal. Not forever, but for a while.
G and A carved their pumpkins tonight. It's the first family thing Chris has missed. He loves getting right in there to help the girls think of ideas. So we decided that our "Daddy" would just have to be his stand-in.
