Day One hundred and fifty-five

Let's see....calm day at home with the girls. So, why am I still oh-so-very gloomy? It's like Eeyore as taken over my body. Maybe when the sun comes out I will brighten up too. Until then, these pictures of my Zo-Zo wearing Addie's boots will put a smile on my face. Tomorrow I will try and choose JOY.

Being that Tenzin is not quite 2 yrs old,
he preferred to look out the window
at the cars than ooh and aww over the
his new baby sister.

Day One hundred and fifty-three

Dreary day + headache x too many days without a hug from my hubby x too many days left to go = 1 melancholy and tired Me.

"The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in Him, and He helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise Him." Ps. 28:7

"Satisfy us in the morning with Your unfailing love, that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days." Ps.90:14

"When anxiety was great within me, Your consolation brought me joy." Ps. 94:19

Day One hundred and fifty-two

"But You, LORD, are a shield around me, my glory, the One who lifts my head high. I call out to the LORD, and He answers me from His holy mountain. I lie down and sleep; I wake again, because the LORD sustains me." Ps. 3:3-5

Man, I am still exhausted from this weekend. I woke up this morning already wanting it to be bedtime again. It took everything in me to finally get my feet on the floor.

Even though I didn't want to get up it was a good day. Addie presented her oral book report to her 3rd grade class. Ruby helped her by dressing up like one of the characters in her book. The book was "Into the Fire Storm" and was about the 1906 earthquake and fire in San Francisco  They both did a great job. I am so proud of Addie and how hard she worked on her report. It was so fun watching her get super excited about a book. She would read and read and then tell me everything about it. Her eyes would light up when she was telling me what was happening in the story.

Both Chris and I love to read. Grace usually has her nose buried in a book as well. It looks like we have Addie hooked too. Ruby and Zoe are always looking a picture books and wanting me to read to them or trying to "read" their favorite books themselves. I think they are well on their way to being bookworms.

The highlight of the day was being able to come home right after school. No errands to run, no places we had to go, and no extra thing needing my attention. The girls worked on art projects. Grace made a lion with her new "Paperoni" set she got for her birthday. Addie made cute little cupcake soaps from a kit she got for her birthday. Zoe used markers to make Daddy a picture, while Ruby watched everyone and whined about not being able to do what Addie and Gracie were doing. We were all in the kitchen talking, laughing and just being together. It was wonderful!

Day One hundred and fifty-one

I can't believe the weekend is over. It went by way too fast! The girl's didn't have school Wednesday Thursday, and Friday so that means we had a 5 day "weekend". Everyday we had something going on. I feel like I need a day off from all of the girl's day's off.

I'm looking forward to getting through another week just so I can cross it off. We are all so very ready to get to October. I even dream about the look on the girls' faces when they see their daddy for the first time. I can see them all running full steam ahead and jumping into his arms. Chris' face is lit up and he is spinning them 'round and 'round. Everyone is giggling.
I am standing there crying tears of joy watching the sweet reunion and waiting for my turn.

Hurry October. Hurry.

"But You, O Lord, are a shield about me, my glory, and the One who lifts my head. I was crying to the Lord with my voice, and He answered me from His holy mountain. I lay down and slept; I awoke, for the Lord sustains me." Psalm 3:3-5

Day One hundred and forty-eight

"Sing joyfully to the LORD, you righteous; it is fitting for the upright to praise Him. Praise the LORD with the harp; make music to Him on the ten-stringed lyre. Sing to Him a new song; play skillfully, and shout for joy. For the word of the LORD is right and true; He is faithful in all He does. The LORD loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of His unfailing love. By the word of the LORD the heavens were made, their starry host by the breath of His mouth. He gathers the waters of the sea into jars; He puts the deep into storehouses. Let all the earth fear the LORD; let all the people of the world revere Him. For He spoke, and it came to be; He commanded, and it stood firm."
Ps. 33:1-9

"We wait in hope for the LORD; He is our help and our shield. In Him our hearts rejoice,  for we trust in His holy name. May your unfailing love be with us, LORD, even as we put our hope in You." Ps. 33:20-22

“The LORD is my strength and my defense; He has become my salvation. He is my God, and I will praise Him, my father’s God, and I will exalt Him." Exodus 15:2

"I will proclaim the name of the LORD. Oh, praise the greatness of our God!" Deuteronomy 32:3

"The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in Him, and He helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise Him" Ps 28:7

"Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the LORD." Ps 31:24

"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In His great mercy He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. Though you have not seen Him, you love him; and even though you do not see Him now, you believe in Him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls." 1 Peter 1:3-9

I pray these verses encourage you as much as they have encouraged me today. There's just something about being reminded who God is that puts the trival stuff in it's place.

"Our God is greater
Our God is stronger
God you are higher than any other
Our God is Healer
Awesome in power
Our God, Our God"
~~chorus to "Our God" by Chris Tomlin

Day One hundred and forty-six

  *~*~*~*~*Happy Birthday Addie Joy Christine!!!~*~*~*~*

9 years ago today I gave birth to a beautiful brown-eyed girl. My 2nd born daughter. Although she didn't have a name for the 1st one and a half days of her life, she stole my heart the minute I found out I was pregnant. With her sweet smiles, her contagious laughter, her sensitive spirit, her servant's heart, her bubbly joy, and creativity; she fills my life with so much love.

When I was pregnant with her, I wondered how my heart could love another child. I loved my Gracie so much and I worried how I would divide that love between 2 little princesses. But the minute my eyes locked with hers all those fears were washed away. Addie's birth taught me that love doesn't have to be divided but instead it grows, doubles, and overflows. The heart grows and it's capacitiy to love grows with it. I never knew I could love so much.

Here are a few of my favorite pictures of Addie Joy-Joy:

Sorry about the crazy picture layout. I am not the best at this whole layout thing.
