"Those who sow with tears will reap with songs of joy." Ps. 126:5
"You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in Your bottle. You have recorded each one in Your book." Ps.56:8
"The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the LORD’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion—to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the LORD for the display of his splendor." Isaiah 61:1-3
I need to keep reminding myself that God knows my sadness, hears my crying, comforts my heart and wipes my tears. When I don't focus on His goodness, I find myself hiding from the people around me. Many times over the last few long days I have just wanted to retreat to my room and just be alone. Interacting with others takes a lot of energy.
God has shown more of His goodness by allowing Chris to come home on emergency leave this afternoon. His arrival this time felt so much different. The excitment from last time was replaced by relief. Having his strong and comforting arms embrace me provided the solace I so badly needed.
So glad Chris is home! Praise God!
