New topic! Today the 623rd FRG (family readiness group) threw a Christmas Party. It was a fun time for families to get together enjoy yummy desserts, play games, win prizes and visit Santa. I was able to talk with other mom's whose husband's are gone. The girls were able to interact with other kids who are missing their dad or mom. There were even little gifts given to each child. They FRG did a fantastic job at helping the kids feel special. Two boys from the Wahoo community did a stuffed animal drive at their school. Their goal was to get enough stuffed animals for each of the children of the 623rd (100+). They succeeded! Grace said "Wow, I didn't know boys could be that nice."

Day Thirty-nine
My heart and mind are full of so many things. Chris and his unit left yesterday night for their base in Afghanistan. It's real now. No more comfort in knowing that he is just in Texas. No more being able to talk to him a few times a day. Now our conversations will be limited by a 10 hour time change, Internet availability, his duties, and heck even being able to have access to an actual phone when time does allow. All of this just makes my heart hurt and my mind bogged down. I'm going to stop thinking about it now.
